Confirmation bias
Confirmation bias refers to the tendency of individuals to interpret or seek out information in a way that confirms their preexisting beliefs, hypotheses, or expectations. It is a cognitive bias that influences the way people perceive and process information, leading them to selectively favor evidence that supports their existing viewpoints while disregarding or downplaying contradictory evidence.
